A grant to Enfield People for People, which operates the Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center to support the Warming center for the homeless

Enfield, CT, October 7, 2021 – The Town of Enfield has awarded a grant to Enfield People for People, which operates the Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center to support the Warming Center’s operation for the coming winter’s season coming season.

“We are grateful for the support of the Town of Enfield. The Warming Center will use these funds to advance its plan to operate overnight warming center, if pandemic protocols will permit, and make referrals to other social services agencies that we hope will lead to lower levels of housing insecurity, poverty, and unemployment", said Rosalind Swift, the Center’s Communications Chair.

At the close of our efforts last season, and despite the challenges created by the COVID pandemic, the Warming Center served a total of 70 guests. We were able to connect the large majority of them to housing resources, including local accommodations managed by the Community Health Resources office in Enfield. We were also able to supply much needed food and personal items to our guests
