ENFIELD, CT — A traffic stop on Elm Street wound up yielding much more than a ticket Wednesday, as police discovered fentanyl and crack cocaine inside the vehicle, then a considerable amount of narcotics upon subsequent execution of a search warrant at a local home.

Just before 6 p.m., police seized 20 folds of fentanyl, a small amount of crack cocaine and $1,466 in cash during the traffic stop. Officers obtained a search warrant for a house on Cross Street, and seized about 500 bags of fentanyl packaged for sale, 0.74 ounces of crack cocaine and $2,440 in cash, Chief Alaric Fox said.

Esteban Alicea, 46, and Chrystal Klein, 29, were each charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of risk of injury to a child.
