Ujima African American Alliance Receives Hartford Foundation Grant

Enfield, CT, November 27, 2023 – Ujima African American Alliance received a $4000 grant to support resident engagement from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. The funding will help Ujima’s overall work and support the expansion of the African American exhibit at the Enfield Historical Museum.

“The Hartford Foundation's support is invaluable as it enables us to enhance our mission of highlighting African American voices in the Enfield community,” said Ujima executive director Rosalind Swift. “With the grant, we will expand our African American exhibit, highlighting the rich history and contributions of our African American ancestors. Additionally, the funding allows us to make our exhibit portable, bringing African American heritage to libraries, schools, and events throughout Enfield.”
