Victims of Enfield Crash Identified; State Police Seek Witnesses

One person was killed and two seriously injured in the Sunday night crash on I-91.

Connecticut State Police have identified the driver of the car who was killed Sunday night in a one-car crash on southbound I-91 in Enfield.

And police are seeking witnesses to the crash near Exit 49 that left two others injured.

A 2002 Honda Accord was being driven by Vitaliy Fodor, 34, of Westfield, MA when the car struck a metal beam guide rail on the right side of the road, according to State Police. The car overturned and all three occupants were ejected about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14.

Fodor suffered massive trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police statement released Wednesday morning. The passengers who were seriously injured were identified as Alexandr P. Banari, 26, of Bloomfield, NJ, and Yuriy Sivolobov, 26, of New Britain.

State Police said they are seeking witnesses to the crash and ask they contact Trooper Christopher Tanner at Troop H at 860-534-1000.
