Video: Enfield Hosting Shop With a Cop Event

Law enforcement officers are teaming up with Target and The REACH Foundation for the holiday shopping event.

State and local police and The REACH Foundation are joining forces with area Target stores for a Shop with a Cop event this holiday season.

In the program, Troopers and police officers are paired with underprivileged Connecticut children to assist with the child’s shopping list. More than 40 state troopers are set to participate in the annual Shop with a Cop event.

Shop with a Cop is a program that provides a unique holiday experience for underprivileged children during the holiday season. Each child is paired with a participating law enforcement officer and together they shop for the child's family. The program begins with a meet-and-greet over dinner followed by a procession of police cruisers, with flashing lights and sirens, to the shopping location.

Once they arrive, the children are paired back up with their law enforcement officer and begin their one-on-one shopping experiences.

Once finished, the children receive a goodie bag and get their pictures taken with their law enforcement officer and Santa.
