Weather Prompts Change to Enfield's Friday Classes
A serious winter storm left north-central Connecticut blanketed with about a foot of snow Thursday.

ENFIELD, CT — Thursday's winter storm dumped nearly a foot of snow on north-central Connecticut, prompting Enfield school officials to cancel classes and activities for Friday, Jan. 5.
All Enfield public schools and offices, Stowe Early Learning Center, parochial schools, Head Start, CREC Public Safety Academy and ERfC School Age Centers will be closed Friday.
All after-school activities, Park & Recreation and Enfield Adult Education Classes have been canceled. There will be no out-of-town buses.

Early Thursday evening, Superintendent of Schools Chris Drezek notified parents and students that John F. Kennedy Middle School will also be closed Monday, Jan. 8 so that a new boiler may be installed to fix an ongoing heat problem. All other schools will be in session Monday, weather permitting.
