Weather Prompts Field Closures, Cancellation of Enfield Games

According to an email alert issued by the Town of Enfield, all athletic fields were closed Thursday afternoon.

All games and practices have been cancelled.

Here’s the latest National Weather Service forecast for the Enfield area as of Thursday afternoon, through the weekend:

Late Afternoon: Showers. High near 74. Southeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday night: Showers likely, mainly before 7pm. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 74. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 8 mph.

Saturday: Isolated showers after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. South wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35.
