WHY SEND YOUR CHILD TO DANCE SCHOOL

Dance Education must be thought of as any other form of learning. It should be understood that learning to dance is part of a person's education and not just something to do with the kids afterschool or on Saturdays. Dance training has many benefits. including: *Students learn to be more aware of themselves. *They learn to discipline both mind and body. *Doctors have found that people who are athlectically inclined as children heal more quickly after surgery and have a higher threshold of pain. *Dancers have better posture and move more grace- fully. *Basketball players and dancers have better peripheral vision. *They learn to play sports better. (This is why most professional football players take ballet classes and many colleges offer ballet to their players.) *Dancers learn the importance of team work. as well as individual work. *Dancers tend to have more stamina and after all, it is people with stamina who win life's races, battles and challenges. * Dance class gives an appreciation for all the arts because it makes the student aware of music and art. If you want to learn more about dance and what your child will learn, give dance teacher/educator David Potter a call at his dance studio on Hazard Ave. at (860) 749-7527!! And why not consider a dance class for adults? Many adults start a tap or jazz dance class later in life. They find dance a challenge and fun relaxing way to spend an hour each week!
