According to a police report, around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the Enfield Inn on King Street with a report of a woman driving erratically in the parking lot. Police found the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe, later identified as Thomas, had struck another vehicle in the parking lot. She did not respond to the officers' commands to exit her vehicle, so police had to reach in to turn off the ignition, Chief Alaric Fox said.

She resisted arrest, becoming "dead weight" to the officers, and bit an officer in the pinkie, breaking the skin, then spit in the eye of a second officer, Fox said.

An employee of the motel told police Thomas had been disruptive in the lobby, throwing a phone which damaged both the phone and a door. Another witness told police Thomas had deliberately driven her vehicle into his car, then hit the passenger side mirror of his car with a piece of wood. After driving out of the lot on the wrong side of the traffic divider on Route 5, she returned to the parking lot and struck the witness's car a second time, then took a swing at him, Fox said.

Surveillance footage from the motel confirmed the stories of both witnesses, Fox said.
