Wreaths Across America Ceremony Canceled in Enfield

Expected inclement weather has forced organizers to cancel this year's event.

ENFIELD, CT — A predicted snowstorm Saturday has forced organizers of the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony to cancel this year's event.

The ceremony had been slated to begin Saturday at noon in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.

"Due to predictions of inclement weather, we have decided to cancel Saturday’s Wreaths Across America celebration in Enfield for noon in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery," organizers Kelly Davis and Lori Gates wrote on Facebook. "While it makes us sad to forego holding the ceremony, we know that safety must come first. Thankfully, here in Enfield, we had a smaller sized ‘ceremony’ of sorts when the delivery convoy came to Parkman Elementary School on Wednesday. Please take a moment tomorrow at noon to say a prayer and remember those who have risked it all – and in some cases, gave their all – for our benefit."
