Wreaths across America - Enfield

"Everyone Plays a Part"

Enfield’s Wreaths across America Ceremony will be on December 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, King Street, Enfield, CT. The public is invited. The American Legion John Maciolek Unit 154 Auxiliary is hosting this year’s ceremony.
There are approximately 1400 veterans laid to rest at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery. It is the Auxiliary’s goal to remember and honor every veteran in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery by placing a wreath at their final resting place. With your help they can reach their goal in honoring our local heroes. They are asking for the public’s support through wreath sponsorship or monetary donation. The cost for each wreath is only $15.00 each. You can help them reach this goal by email at Enfieldwaa@yahoo.com or call 860-463-2795 to sponsor a wreath and/or volunteer. To ensure your wreath is sent to Saint Patrick’s Cemetery orders must be received by November 23rd, 2019.

The inspiration for this year’s theme was a recommendation made by ten-year-old “Mighty” Miles Worcester, the grandson of the founders of Wreaths across America. Last May, while in Washington D.C. for an event, Miles saw a U.S. Service member in uniform at the hotel where he was staying. As he always does, Miles walked up to the gentleman, reached out to shake his hand and thanked him for his service. And his response was simple and impactful: “Thank you…everyone plays a part.” Miles went directly to his grandmother, WAA Executive Director Karen Worcester, to tell her that he believed this statement would be the perfect theme because, as he said, “those serving in the military are doing their part, but it is our part as Americans to remember and honor them, and that’s what Wreaths across America does.”"

The American Legion John Maciolek Unit 154 Auxiliary and Wreaths across America thanks you in
advance for playing your part by sponsoring a wreath to honor a veteran at his or her final resting place
