Chester Fair- Our Path to Zero Waste

We're on a mission!

The Chester Fair is on a mission to not only reduce its food waste and trash but establish a path to Zero Waste by 2025. How do we intend to do that? With a Crowdfunded Matching grant of $10000 from Sustainable CT. With the funds we plan to:

1- Enhance the recycling of all dry materials including metal, glass and corrugated boxes

2- Compost appropriate waste by contracting with Blue Earth Compost and set up staffed, food collection stations at the fair grounds

3- Purchase compostable paper goods and utensils

4- Install water bottle filling stations with the goal of minimizing the sale of single-use plastic bottles

To cover the necessary expenses, we need your help to meet, if not exceed our goals of both $5000, which Sustainable CT will match- as well as a minimum of 50 donors to meet our crowdfunding agreement.
