CHESTER, CT — Transplants from Nevada, Christine and Andrew Harrington will be making the move soon, to the quaint town of Chester, to fulfill their dream and take over operations at Deep Hollow farm.
The couple, who are originally from the east coast said they regret the move to Nevada and miss the trees, ocean and favorable farming conditions here and can’t wait to move back.

"We are planning on taking it slow, honing our skills, making sure to make smart decisions and build our farm slowly," said Christine, who is an experienced organic fruit farmer and beekeeper.
Andrew, who is working at the University of Reno as a Desert Farming Initiative Farming Manager until the couple’s move, in a few weeks, is an experienced vegetable farmer. According to Christine, the couple is committed to the no-till method of farming at Deep Hollow Farm, to promote good soil. They will be tending to a variety of diversified vegetable crops and will be offering their goods at the farm’s farm stand, as well as, farmer’s markets. In addition, they are currently contemplating which CSA model, if any, they will be implementing the first year in business.

"We are very excited about our move to Chester and leasing Deep Hollow Farm," said Christine. "We have always wanted to start a new farm and we think this is a great time and a great place to do this."
The couple only visited Deep Hollow once but said they fell in love with it, as well as, the town of Chester and all it has to offer their family.
Counting down the days until they pack up and leave the desert for good, Christine added, “Everyone has been so supportive and kind we can’t wait to become part of this community.”
The couple has plans of making their move in early February. The first order of business, once they are settled in, is to take stock of the inventory and then dive right in.
“We are very organized people, so we hope to hit the ground running and start preparing for the growing season right away,” said Christine happily.”
