  1. The Chester Elementary School PTO Proudly Presents Halloween Town on
    Friday, October 28 5-9 p.m. at the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
    Dress in your best costumes for an evening of fun and community celebration for the entire family, including a costume parade, carnival games, and a haunted cemetery walk. A costume parade will kick off in the center of town at 4:50 p.m. from the Maple Street parking lot and ends in downtown. Admission is $5 per person, which includes the cemetery walk. Tickets for carnival games, food and drink sold separately. Check out amazingly crafted Halloween scenes by CES classes as you enjoy a stroll along our popular cemetery walk. From 7-9 p.m. the same stroll will be offered but with an optional loop for a scarier experience! Tickets for the walk, food and games are being sold as cash only. As part of Robbie Collomore Concerts: The Noree Chamber Soloists featuring some of the best young chamber musicians in the greater New York area will be performing at the Chester Meeting House on Sunday November 6 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The performers met at various music festivals and formed a flexible performing organization that presents a variety of ensembles. They feature pianist Yoon Lee in Mozart Piano Concerto No 20, and Connecticut's own Bethany Hargreaves on viola. The program also includes a Schubert string quartet and a Dvořák Piano Quintet.   4. In an effort to ensure that everyone who wants to vote can do so, the town of Deep River has listed on its home page the process for residents to apply for absentee ballots. "Residents can now apply for an absentee ballot online! The two-step process to getting an absentee ballot just got easier! The Secretary of the State has just announced a new option to apply for an absentee ballot online. This new webpage allows voters with a Connecticut driver's license to conveniently request an absentee ballot online, rather than having to mail in an application or visit their town clerk in person.
