Fairfield Boy, 13, Accused Of Pulling Knife At Trumbull Event
The incident occurred during a fight last week at the Hillcrest Middle School carnival, according to authorities.
TRUMBULL, CT — A teen accused of pulling a knife on another teen at a middle school carnival in Trumbull was arrested Friday night, according to police.
In a news release, Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir said officers were notified of a fight at the Hillcrest Middle School carnival around 8:30 p.m., during which a teen pulled a knife on another teen before leaving the area.
Officers were given a description of the teen accused of displaying the knife, and a witness told police they saw two teens fighting when one teen pulled a knife on the other teen. The second teen backed off and they both left the area, Weir said.

Officers checked the area and located a teen matching the description with a camouflage pocket knife in his possession, Weir said.
The 13-year-old Fairfield resident told officers he did display the knife but had no intention of using it, as he was only carrying it for protection. He was charged with possession of a deadly weapon and breach of peace, and is scheduled to appear in court later this month, Weir said.

According to Weir, officers dealt with many "unruly roving groups of juveniles who were causing disturbances at the carnival" throughout the night. At one point, a large group was seen running with their phones out yelling about a fight that was about to happen.
Officers then found a large group of teens circled around two other teens who were actively fighting while the group recorded the altercation on their phones. Responding officers were able to quickly break up the fight and arrested both teens.
One of the involved teens told police he was approached by an unknown group of teens who asked him if he wanted to "slap box" another teen for $10. The teen agreed to it but did not know who the other teen was, Weir said.
The teen told officers the two began to "slap box" when police arrived and broke it up. The teenssaid the "fight" was a popular TikTok trend and was not real, Weir said.
A 15-year-old Monroe resident and a 16-year-old Bridgeport resident were both charged with breach of peace and are scheduled to appear in court later this month. No injuries were reported at the carnival, according to Weir.
