2 Cars Stolen From Outside Fairfield Restaurants On Same Day: Police
Both vehicles were stolen from outside downtown restaurants with the keys inside, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two vehicles were recently stolen while outside downtown Fairfield restaurants with the keys inside, according to police.
Both thefts occurred Feb. 26, police said. The first happened around 5 p.m. at Old Post Tavern, 1418 Post Road, when a black sedan pulled up to a Honda parked in front of the business, according to police. A man exited the sedan and entered the driver’s seat of the Honda before speeding away, police said, noting the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside while the owner was briefly in the restaurant.
The second theft happened about two hours later outside Pokemoto, 1512 Post Road, according to police. A 2021 Hyundai Elantra was stolen while parked, unlocked and running when the owner was inside the restaurant, police said, adding the vehicle was recovered the next day in New Haven.
