2 Children, Bus Driver Injured In Fairfield Crash
Two children suffered facial lacerations and were taken to Bridgeport Hospital, as was the driver, who was also injured, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A school bus crash Tuesday in Fairfield resulted in two children and the driver being taken to a hospital, and the engine compartment catching fire, according to police.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. when the bus hit a tree while transporting four schoolchildren on Mountain Laurel Road near Stroll Rock Common, police said. The children were students at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, and Principal Patrick Higgins said he had notified the school’s parent community about the crash shortly after it happened.
Two of the children suffered facial lacerations and were taken to Bridgeport Hospital, as was the driver, who was also injured, according to police. The cause of the crash was unknown as of about 4 p.m., police said.
