2 Fairfield Elementary Schools Among CT's Top 10: U.S. News

FAIRFIELD, CT — Sherman School and Dwight Elementary School are both among the top 10 in the state for elementary schools, according to a new survey by U.S. News & World Report.

The report lists Sherman second and Dwight fifth among elementary schools.

U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, which focuses on student proficiency in core subject areas.

Nationwide, the publication studied data on thousands of public elementary schools.

The top 10 elementary schools in Connecticut are:

1. West School, New Canaan
2. Sherman School, Fairfield
3. South School, New Canaan
4. Riverside School, Riverside
5. Dwight Elementary School, Fairfield
6. Tokeneke Elementary School, Darien
7. East School, New Canaan
8. Green's Farms School, Westport
9. Hindley Elementary School, Darien
10. Veterans Park Elementary School, Ridgefield
