The car was being driven in the wrong lane before the crash, according to police. The incident happened in the Black Rock Turnpike area.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two people were injured after a car rolled into an embankment in the Black Rock Turnpike area, according to Fairfield police.
The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, when a white Scion was traveling north on the wrong side of Black Rock Turnpike and tried to avoid a vehicle taking a legal left turn from the northbound turnpike onto Samp Mortar Drive, police said. The driver of the Scion lost control and drove off Samp Mortar Drive, hitting a guardrail and rolling down an embankment, according to police.
The driver, a man, and the passenger, a woman, both suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, police said. There was an active warrant out of Milford for harassment charges against the man, but it was not immediately served in order to prioritize his health care, according to police, who said an investigation would be conducted to determine if intoxication was a factor in the crash.
