2 Severely Injured In Fiery 5-Car Crash In Fairfield
Two people were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for severe injuries, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two people were severely injured in a fiery five-car crash early Sunday on the Merritt Parkway, according to Fairfield officials.
The incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. near Exit 44 on the northbound parkway, the Fairfield Fire Department said in a Facebook post. When rescue crews arrived, they found that one of the involved vehicles — a Jeep Wrangler — was ablaze, and extinguished the fire.
Two people were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for severe injuries, according to the department, which said state police were investigating the crash. Fourteen firefighters responded to the scene.
