3 Charged In String Of Fairfield Burglaries: Police

After an extensive investigation, the trio was taken into custody this week, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Three Bridgeport men face charges in a series of thefts and burglaries in Fairfield, according to police.

After an extensive investigation, Jose Valentin Sr., Jose Valentin Jr. and Jonathon Valentin were taken into custody this week, police announced in a news release.

The incidents began Jan. 11, when officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Riverside Drive for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim said that his Subaru Crosstrek was stolen from his driveway after being left unlocked with the keys to both the SUV and the victim's home inside.

Five days later, police responded at 8:42 a.m. to the same home for a report of a residential burglary and a stolen vehicle. The victim said she and her husband awoke to find the first floor of their home ransacked and their vehicle stolen.

Two days after that, officers were dispatched at 2:56 a.m. to the 300 block of South Benson Road for a report of a burglary in progress to an occupied residence within a quarter-mile of the 700 block of Riverside Drive.

On Jan. 20, Alberto Rosado, 30, of Brewster Street in Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with burglary, larceny, possession of a firearm, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and driving without a license in connection with the South Benson Road burglary, the news release said.

Jose Valentin Sr., 42, of Myrtle Avenue in Bridgeport, was arrested Monday and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to police.

Jose Valentin Jr., 26, of Myrtle Avenue in Bridgeport, was arrested Monday and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, the news release said.

Jonathon Valentin, 23, of Oakwood Street in Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to police.

All three were held on $75,000 bond, police said. Jose Valentin Sr. and Jose Valentin Jr. are set to appear in court Feb. 10 and Jonathon Valentin is scheduled to be in court Feb. 5, according to the news release.
