70 ATVs, Bikes Disrupt Traffic In Fairfield; Cops Seek Driver IDs
The group drove around other vehicles and on the wrong side of the road, eventually leaving when police arrived, Fairfield officials said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are seeking the public’s help to identify some of the up to 70 people who rode into town Sunday evening and disrupted traffic, according to authorities.
The group of about 60 to 70 drivers entered Fairfield about 5:30 p.m. on all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes and scooters, police said. The drivers met up at Post and South Pine Creek roads, where they drove recklessly in the intersection, around other vehicles and on the wrong side of the road, eventually leaving when police arrived, according to law enforcement.
“The Fairfield Police Detective Bureau is actively working to identify as many involved individuals as possible for the purposes of prosecution,” the police department said Tuesday in a Facebook post, which included photos of several of the drivers taken during the incident.

Police reported Tuesday evening that one of the drivers, Tyrell J. Ebron-Minter, 26, of New Haven, had turned himself in and been charged with reckless driving and failure to drive right. His court date was set for Aug. 30, and he was released on a promise to appear, police said.
Large groups driving recklessly in town is not a new development, and police have posted on social media about the issue previously in recent months, noting that state policy indicates real-time pursuit of the vehicles could be dangerous and lead to further reckless behavior.
