Fairfield police said Malik was additionally charged with assault in the second degree and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident on May 18, according to authorities.

Details of the incidents were not disclosed, but police said they involved an adult victim and a juvenile. During the investigation, police discovered Malik had the swords in his home, which led to them being confiscated by authorities under the Risk Protection Order.

Malik was released after posting bond on bail of $125,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
