Dangerous Weapons Seized By Fairfield Police During Alleged Assault Investigation

A Fairfield man has been arrested in connection with the case, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 24-year-old Fairfield man was arrested on assault and other charges by Fairfield police last month, during which several samurai swords were seized from the suspect as part of "Risk Protection Order," Patch has learned.

Ahmed Malik was taken into custody on May 20 and charged with the following:

  • Risk of Injury to a Child
  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Unlawful Restraint in the First Degree

Fairfield police said Malik was additionally charged with assault in the second degree and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident on May 18, according to authorities.

Details of the incidents were not disclosed, but police said they involved an adult victim and a juvenile. During the investigation, police discovered Malik had the swords in his home, which led to them being confiscated by authorities under the Risk Protection Order.

Malik was released after posting bond on bail of $125,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
