FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Board of Education Tuesday approved a new three-year employment contract for Superintendent Michael Testani, extending his tenure through June 30, 2029.
Under the motion approved by the board, Testani was formally elected superintendent and the board approved all terms of his employment contract for the period beginning July 1 through the end of June 2029.
Approval of the contract remains contingent upon Testani signing the agreement within one week of the board's vote. There was no public discussion of the new contract by the board Tuesday.
The vote to approve was 6-3, with Chair Jennifer Maxon Kennelly, Vice Chair Nick Aysseh, Jacquelyn Bardenwerper, Tracey Rinaldi, David Krasnoff and Jason Li voting in favor. Secretary Kathrynanne Flynn, Kristin O’Neill and Jennifer Jacobsen opposed the motion.
Financial terms of the new pact were not immediately available; Patch reached out to a district spokesperson for information, but did not receive a reply.
Under his current contract, Testani's salary reportedly rose to more than $290,000.
