The town's Office of Community and Economic Development is pairing the dining deals with a broader slate of events to encourage full "night out" experiences around Fairfield. 2. Former Fairfield RTM Member Sentenced For Threatening Fairfield Police Officers: Feds (patch.com) — A former Fairfield Representative Town Meeting member has been sentenced to 39 months in federal prison after admitting he sent violent threats targeting Fairfield police officers and an FBI agent. Federal and local officials, including Fairfield's police chief, emphasized that threats against law enforcement in Fairfield will be aggressively investigated and prosecuted, and noted related state charges are still pending.
3. Fairfield Ludlowe & Warde High Schools Among Top 25 In CT: U.S. News & World Report (patch.com) — Fairfield parents and students can celebrate strong showings for both town high schools, with Fairfield Ludlowe ranked 18th and Fairfield Warde 23rd in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report. The 2026-27 rankings highlight college readiness, graduation rates, and performance of underserved students using data from the 2023-24 school year.
4. Cafeteria fire at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield located with thermal imaging, officials say (ctpost.com) — Firefighters in Fairfield used thermal imaging to quickly locate and control a nighttime cafeteria fire at Sacred Heart University, after security safely evacuated students from the smoke-filled building. All eight town fire companies responded, sprinklers activated, and officials are now working with the university to ensure the building is ready for the upcoming school year.
