Public Hearing Scheduled In Fairfield On Proposed Sewer Usage Rate Increases

The town's Water Pollution Control Authority will host the hearing online.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield's Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 2, to review proposed sewer usage rate increases for the 2027 fiscal sewer tax year.

Currently, Fairfield's sewer usage rate for residents is $5.85 per Hundred Cubic Feet (ccf), and under the proposal, it would increase to $6.35/ccf.

The annual minimum charge would rise to $196.05, and the annual well customer charge would become $270.05, under the proposal.

Wednesday's hearing, which will held via Zoom, is scheduled for 7 p.m. To view the agenda with Zoom information, click here.

Officials encourage residents to email comments before the meeting to sewers@fairfieldct.gov.
