Police emphasize the victim and alleged assailant lived together, call it an isolated incident, and note North Stratfield School was briefly secured as a precaution until the arrest was confirmed.
• Fairfield Police Arrest Final Suspect in February Home Invasion After New Haven Man Was Found in Alabama and Returned to Connecticut on Thursday (centralrecorder.com) — Fairfield police say they've arrested the final suspect tied to a February home invasion, after tracking a New Haven man to Alabama and returning him to Connecticut. The suspect now faces serious charges, including home invasion, robbery, and unlawful restraint, and is being held on a $1 million bond, closing months of investigative work on the case.
• Loaded gun found in backpack at Connecticut store after owner left it behind, police say (ctpost.com) — A Newtown man faces a second-degree reckless endangerment charge after police say he left a backpack containing a loaded gun inside the Newtown General Store in June. He turned himself in on a warrant and is due in Danbury court. Records also show he previously received a suspended sentence for a 2019 reckless endangerment case stemming from an arrest in Fairfield.
