FSW, Inc., Bridgeport, CT, [November 2, 2011] – Meet, Greet and Celebrate was the theme of FSW’s annual meeting at the Pequot Library in Southport yesterday. FSW (formerly Family Services Woodfield) honored donors, supporters, staff and clients.
The Pequot Yacht was presented with the Woodfield Award, in recognition of the club’s volunteer service and long-term commitment to FSW. Ten years ago, a donation of used boats from the club helped establish FSW’s Youth Business Center. Since then, their "Sailing with Neighbors” program has provided sailing experiences for FSW youth. Through their caring, club members have inspired our youth and improved our community.
“The Pequot Yacht Club members understand the difference that this experience, so far outside the realm of their everyday world, can make in the life of a young man or woman,” said FSW Board Chair Ellen Tower. “The Yacht Club members not only share their love of sailing; they talk to the kids about their aspirations and life experiences,” she added. “They show that they truly care about the youth.”
