Antisemitism In Fairfield And Beyond Discussed At Forum
One resident said he and his young son heard antisemitic slurs, yelled at them from a passing car in town, the Connecticut Post reported.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Community members gathered recently to discuss antisemitism in Fairfield, online and beyond at an event hosted by Chabad of Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Post.
One Fairfield resident said he and his young son heard antisemitic slurs, yelled at them from a car that passed them twice in the northeast part of town, the Post reported. Almost 70 percent of recent religiously motivated hate crimes in Connecticut were directed at Jews, who comprise about 3.5 percent of the population, according to the Post, which noted that nationally antisemitism has decreased.
At the event, Rabbi Shlame Landa discussed the importance of giving people tools to combat antisemitism in a positive manner, the Post reported. In addition to Sunday’s forum, titled “Today’s Encounters with Anti-Semitism” and held at the Jacky Durell Pavilion, Chabad of Fairfield will run a four-week workshop called “Outsmarting Antisemitism,” which starts later this month.

"Outsmarting Antisemitism takes this dark subject on squarely, with a sense of unabashed optimism, profound faith, and a distinctly Jewish approach,” Chabad of Fairfield’s website said.
