Arrest Made in Sexual Assault of Sacred Heart Student

BRIDGEPORT, CT - A Bridgeport man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault of a 19-year-old Sacred Heart University student in December, authorities said.

According to a release, police served an arrest warrant on Alfonzo Reid at his residence in the 120 block of Scolfield Avenue around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Reid was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree sexual assault.

Reid was arrested after an investigation into the sexual assault of the student where he allegedly took the victim to his home and sexually assaulted her.

He was given a $750,000 bond.
