Become a Tutor: Just Four Hours a Week Can Change a Life!
Mercy Learning Center is looking for volunteer tutors

Mercy Learning Center of Bridgeport, which provides basic literacy and life skills training to low-income women, desperately needs volunteer tutors for two hours twice a week. No teaching experience is required. Training and support is provided, and the next Tutor Training session is Friday, September 29.
Tutors are matched with one or more students, and work with them on English conversation skills, reading, writing, social studies and civics, science, math, or to prepare for the GED® exam.
Volunteers usually discover that helping a woman to learn English, advance her education, and meet her life goals is enormously fulfilling.

The commitment is only two, two-hour sessions per week, between Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Center at 637 Park Avenue in Bridgeport. Adult men and women of all backgrounds are welcome.
