Bobcat Spotted In Fairfield
Fairfield Police are advising residents of a recent bobcat sighting in town and what to do if you encounter one.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police are advising residents of a recent bobcat sighting in town and what to do if you encounter one. Police said a resident on Eleven O’Clock Road sent a photo of a large cat in their backyard last week to the Fairfield Animal Control. The animal control confirmed that the large cat is a bobcat, according to police. Read more from the Fairfield Police Department below:
Some facts about bobcats:
• Rarely cause conflicts with humans. Bobcat attacks on people are extremely rare.

• They are most active just after dusk and before dawn.
• April is birthing season for Bobcats.
• Daily movements of 1 to 4 miles is common.
If you encounter a bobcat:
• Do not approach. Back away slowly.
• Make noise.
• Do not attempt to feed.
• You can report bobcat sightings to Fairfield Animal Control at (203) 254-4857 and/or email CTDEEP at deep.ctwildlife@ct.gov.
