You're invited to Pequot Library’s 64th Annual Summer Book Sale!
One of the largest book sales in New England, the Summer Book Sale draws book lovers from near and far with a selection of over 100,000 items in over 45 categories. The five-day sale is held in large tents on the Great Lawn and parking lot and in the Auditorium and Reading Room of the Library.
- This is one of our largest sales EVER with offerings of a record number of books, CD’s, DVD’s, and LP’s.
- Most books – including all books under our large tents – are $4.00 or less.
- For our discophiles, we have hundreds of vinyl records, including both 45’s and 33’s, mostly from the 1960’s to 1990’s.
- As always our selection of books for children of all ages is HUGE.
- We have a new category featuring books with decorative bindings. These books, including many leather bound, are great for display on shelves (even if you choose not to read them).
- And this year we will have nearly 500 “special” items – collectible books, a few maps, and 2 vintage 1930’s posters. Those items will be compiled in a catalogue viewable on this site starting the first week of July. In addition to photos and descriptions of those offerings, buyers this year will have an opportunity to examine them at the library on Wednesday, June 16 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. All special items will go on sale online at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.
Admission is free. All proceeds support Pequot Library’s books, services, programs, and exhibitions for adults and children, serving more than 58,000 participants a year. Check our website for information on parking, categories of books and media, pricing, and more.
