Car Burglars Caught Thanks To Alert Resident: Fairfield Police

An alert resident helped police catch two suspected car burglars in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two suspected car burglars were recently arrested thanks to an alert resident, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports a resident in the Jennings Road area called police after hearing her car making a “beeping sound” and saw that a door was open and it had been rummaged through. Responding officers saw two people running from the area.

Taylon Silva, 23, of New Haven, was taken into custody after a brief struggle and his 15-year-old accomplice, a West Haven resident, was later found hiding under some leaves, according to the Citizen. Both were arrested. Police said about five vehicles in the area had been burglarized.
