Carbon Dioxide Leak At Fairfield McDonald's
Authorities advised the restaurant to close overnight and not reopen until the issue was fixed.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield fast food restaurant was directed by authorities to close early on Saturday due to a carbon dioxide leak involving the equipment used to make soda at the business.
Fairfield firefighters responded just before 11 p.m. to McDonald’s, 1835 Black Rock Turnpike, after carbon dioxide generators for the soda machines developed a leak and set off an alarm in the building, according to Assistant Chief Erik Kalapir.
Firefighters identified the source of the leak and turned off the beverage equipment. The store manager and service company were contacted, Kalapir said, adding authorities advised the restaurant to close overnight and not reopen until the system was repaired.
