• Reported Assault In Fairfield Was Not A Stabbing, Police Say (patch.com) — Fairfield police are clarifying that a weekend family violence incident, widely described online as a stabbing, was actually an assault in which a victim was cut by yard equipment. Officers say 22-year-old Yuri Vahagn Anushyan is charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace, and emphasize there was no broader public safety threat or ongoing danger to Fairfield residents.
   

• 25 Fairfield restaurants, a senior living center cited for serious health violations in July (ctpost.com) — Fairfield's Health Department cited 26 local restaurants and a senior living center for 71 serious violations during July inspections, ranging from improper food temperatures to sanitizer issues and mice droppings. Some spots briefly closed to fix problems, while others say violations were corrected, giving residents a clearer picture of recent food‑safety concerns at familiar neighborhood eateries.
   

• Coyote Wanders Into Home's Basement, Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control Says (patch.com) — Fairfield residents are being reminded to stay cautious around coyotes after recent reports of dogs being attacked in town, with animal control urging people not to approach or feed them and to secure outdoor food sources. A similar close call in Waterford, where a coyote wandered into a flooded basement, shows how easily wildlife can slip into homes when doors or bulkheads are left open.
