Spotlight Arts Inc. presents a Comedy Master Class on Monday, January 18th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) from 9AM - 3PM at the Studio Around the Corner 67 Main Street, Suite 101, Brewster NY. The class is open to students in grades 6 – 12.
This 6-hour workshop is designed to improve students’ comedic acting skills. Throughout the day, students will explore comedy through improvisation, sketch comedy writing, script analysis and character work. Students will start the day focusing on improvisational exercises and sharpening their storytelling skills. Combining comedic technique with character work, students will learn how to understand comedic intentions and write comedy through performance, using improv as a writing tool as the day evolves. Students will end the day performing full comedic scenes. This master class is great for any students, new or experienced in theatre, in grades 6-12.
