Crowd Pepper Sprayed Outside Southport Restaurant: Police
Between 20 and 30 people were sprayed in response to aggressive crowding outside the business, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — At least 20 people were exposed to what appeared to be pepper spray after a shoving incident Friday involving a crowd outside a Southport restaurant, according to police.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m., when police were called to Wafu Asian Bistro, 3671 Post Road, and found about 200 people in the parking lot, up to 30 of whom had been exposed to what was likely pepper spray, authorities said.
Before police were called, the crowd waiting to get into the restaurant had become aggressive, pushing toward the entrance, at which point several people were hit in the face and eyes with the spray, according to authorities.
