Dog Bites Boy In Face, Owners Sought: Fairfield Animal Control
The animal control is asking for help with locating the dog's owners to determine its vaccination status after a 5-year-old boy was bitten.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Animal Control is asking for help with locating the owners of a dog that bit a 5-year-old boy in Fairfield over the weekend. The animal control is trying to determine the dog’s vaccination status so the boy doesn’t have to go through the rabies vaccination protocol, officials said. The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. on March 31 on Warsaw Street in Fairfield.
“Ryan Bartlett and his 5-year-old son were playing in their front yard when an older couple walked by with two dogs,” the animal control wrote in a post on Facebook. “They were walking a black & tan, large herding type dog and a tan, small terrier/toy type dog on the street in front of Ryan’s home. Ryan’s son asked him if it was okay to pet the dogs. Ryan asked the couple if the dogs were nice and if his son could pet the dogs. The couple said yes. They then approached his son with the dogs.
“The larger dog unfortunately bit Ryan's son on the face. In all the confusion, neither the boy’s father nor the dogs’ owners exchanged contact information. We are looking for the vaccination status of the biting dog so this boy does not have to go through the rabies vaccination protocol. If anyone has any helpful information, please call Animal Control at (203) 254-4857.”
