FAIRFIELD, CT — A young driver suffered a minor injury after crashing into the porch of a house Saturday, according to fire officials.

First responders received multiple calls just after 11 p.m. about a car that had driven into a house on South Benson Road, the Fairfield Fire Department said in a Facebook post. Emergency personnel at the scene discovered that the car had veered off the street and into the front porch of a house at the intersection of South Benson Road and Clinton Street, according to the department.

The driver, who was under 18, was not present when officials arrived at the scene, but was found and returned to the area, the department said. He suffered a minor injury but did not need to go to a hospital, according to the department.

Emergency crews secured the porch roof after the damage caused by the crash, which Kalamaras said was not significant.
