He starred in and supplied much of the music for the
film Harder They Come, and its subsequent soundtrack album. And in doing so,
Jimmy Cliff helped to popularize reggae music all over the world and has been a
living legend ever since. For that 1972 soundtrack, he gathered up Toots and the
Maytals, Desmond Dekker, and the Melodians for one of the most exciting
collections of roots reggae you can find, his own songs shining brightest.
