Summer Studio Sale Simmers with Super Prices

"J. Brown Art will host a Summer Studio Sale from July 24th to July 26th from 10am - 2pm daily at Studio 411 in the historic American Fabrics Arts Building. The artist, Janine Brown, has worked in a variety of styles and mediums over the past 20 years. At the sale, guests will find contemporary botanicals, abstract drawings and paintings, prints, and photography all priced at below retail value.  In addition, her limited edition Krochet Kritters will be for sale. The American Fabrics Art Building is located at 1069 Connecticut Avenue, Building 4, Bridgeport, CT, 06607. Other artist studios will be open for business, as well.   Ms. Brown is a multi-media artist and freelance designer. Her award winning artwork has been featured in regional galleries, including the Westport Arts Center (Solos Shows), Westport; Rockwell Art and Framing, Wilton; and the Bridgeport Arts and Cultural Council, Bridgeport.  Brown’s work has been selected for numerous juried exhibitions, which include “Spectra 2010” at the Silvermine Guild of Art, New Canaan; “Flower (re)Power” at the Housatonic Museum of Art, Bridgeport, CT; “Spectrum 2010” at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, New Canaan; and “Abstract and Geometric”  at The Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, IL.  Her pastel work was published in the Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 Competition in 2004 and 2006, winning Honorable Mention awards both years.   As a freelance designer, Brown has created socks and tights for infants and children that have been featured in Cookie Magazine and Earnshaw’s.  Her licensed artwork has been used on stationary, gift boxes, and wall décor, which were sold in national and international retail outlets including Bed, Bath and Beyond and Home Goods.
