Fairfield Affordable Housing Apartment Building Gets Approval

The application passed with no opposition.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 24-unit affordable housing application on Kings Highway passed the Planning and Zoning Commission without opposition.

The property 1427-1443 Kings Highway, is located near the Fairfield Metro Train Station, according to the Connecticut Post.

Eight of the 24 one-bedroom units will be set aside as affordable for the next 40 years.

There will be 24 parking spots on the property, which caused some concern. Current 8-30g laws force local zoning authorities to prove the plan would pose a public safety risk in order to be denied.
