Fairfield Chamber Of Commerce Hosts Awards/Recognition Dinner June 28

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has announced the date of its 76th Annual Awards & Recognition Dinner to be held on June 28, 2022, at 5:30 pm at The Patterson Club in Fairfield, Connecticut.

"This will be a very special evening," says Beverly A. Balaz, President of the Chamber, "as we
will be recognizing the Town of Fairfield this year for its tireless efforts and dedicated support to
help our Chamber members and local business community during the difficult years of the
COVID pandemic."

• Police Chief Robert Kalamaras
• Health Department Director Sands Cleary
• Director of Community & Economic Development Mark Barnhart

In addition, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will also be celebrating its 75th Anniversary
(which was officially last year: July 1946-July 2021), but was postponed and not celebrated due
to the pandemic.

The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will also recognize Scott Nickel, as Volunteer of the Year.
Ms. Balaz stated, "Scott has always selflessly raised his hand to help over his many years at the
Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and has given his time and assistance in many of the Chamber
and FELO events … contributing to the success of each one."

"We will also honor FELO (Fairfield Emerging Leaders Organization) with an award that will be
accepted by Lucas Seelig, 2021-2022 Chair of FELO, for reaching a milestone in 2022. FELO,
which is part of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, has awarded $22,000 in scholarships over
the past eight years, through its membership and event programs. Two scholarships are given
out each year, to local high school students who will be majoring in business - one from Fairfield
Ludlowe High School and one from Fairfield Warde High School.

"We are so proud of our scholarship program, and we are happy to have a positive impact on a student’s academic and career success," noted Ms. Balaz.

"This Annual Awards & Recognition Dinner always proves to be a wonderful and magical
evening where the closest of friends, family, and colleagues all come together to celebrate the
contributions of each honoree. And, we are excited to finally celebrate the Chamber’s 75th
Anniversary too!" added Ms. Balaz.
