Today we feature Betsy Radler, a local teacher who has made a difference, sent in by Ana Rukavina.
Who is your favorite teacher?
Betsy Radler.
Where does she teach?
She was my kindergarten teacher at Jennings Elementary School in Fairfield many years ago.
Why is she your favorite?
She is my favorite teacher because she tutored me at my house after I had arrived here from Europe with no English background and after missing many days of school because of a life saving open heart surgery I needed as a child. Ms. Radler not only visited me at my house after school and tutored me she became close friends with my grandmother who took care of me and they both exchanged life stories and experiences. My grandmother and I became loved Ms. Radler so much and still do. I kept in touch with her over they years and she was actually my student teacher mentor when I was in college training to become a teacher myself because of her. She even attended my wedding! Betsy Radler is a teacher who goes above and beyond for her friends, family , and students and she means so much to so many of us. She helped me build a foundation and the love for learning and continues to do so for so many even though she is retired. She is and always will be my favorite teacher and I share my special story about her with many people. I admire her so much!
