Search Continues For Man In Ski Mask Who Scared 2 Fairfield Girls
Fairfield police have released new details from the Wednesday incident in the Collingwood Avenue area. UPDATE

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are asking for the public's help in finding a man in a ski mask, who drove up to two middle school girls Wednesday afternoon, scaring the girls as they were walking home from a bus stop.
Details of the encounter were not disclosed, but it frightened the girls enough that they "ran to a nearby home to contact police."
The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. when a resident on Collingwood Avenue called 911 to report that two "very upset" young girls ran to his home, and described an encounter with a man in a vehicle while they were walking home from the school bus.

Fairfield police officers immediately went to the home and interviewed the two middle school girls, who described the following:
"While walking home after exiting the school bus, a white male operating a white vehicle (which may possibly be a BMW X5 type vehicle) described to have white interior, drove up to them while they were walking. The vehicle was playing loud music and the male was wearing a black ski mask upon his approach. There was no conversation with the girls and no further action taken by the person operating the vehicle. The two girls ran to a nearby home to report the incident."

In an earlier description posted on Facebook, the man was wearing a "white long sleeve shirt with a tattoo under one of his eyes."
Members of the police department's Detective Bureau and the School Safety Unit joined the Patrol Division to investigate the incident.
"Officers and detectives are actively investigating this incident using all available resources to them, which include video surveillance, in an attempt to identify this individual," Fairfield police said.
Additionally, the department praised the two girls for their actions.
"These two girls did exactly what police would want them to do in this type of situation," authorities said. "We remind them to try to walk in groups, never talk to strangers, and report any suspicious incident to police immediately."
