Fairfield Coronavirus Update: 7 More Deaths, 300 Total Cases

As of Monday, there were 300 confirmed cases of the virus in Fairfield, up from 257 cases Saturday, according to the first selectwoman.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield saw seven additional reported deaths related to the new coronavirus between Saturday morning and Monday evening, according to the first selectwoman.

In total, 33 residents were confirmed to have died as of Monday after contracting the virus, First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in a recent Facebook post. In an email to residents Saturday, Kupchick had reported 26 virus-associated deaths.

Also as of Monday, there were 300 confirmed cases of the virus in town, up from 257 cases Saturday, according to Kupchick.

Across Connecticut as of Monday, there were 19,815 confirmed cases, 1,331 of which were associated with the death of a patient, according to state data. After a two-day decrease in hospitalizations, the number of patients hospitalized with the virus increased Monday by 18.
