Fairfield Daycare Operator Charged in Baby’s Death Appears in Court

The Fairfield woman was arrested last week in connection to a 4-month-old's death at an unlicensed daycare she operated out of her home.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Superior Court judge ordered Carol Cardillo, the Fairfield daycare owner charged in the death of a 4-month-old Shelton baby, to have no further contact with the baby’s family during her arraignment on Thursday, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports that the judge imposed the protective order on Cardillo, 53, and continued the case to Oct. 4 when she is expected to enter pleas.

Cardillo, of Edgewood Road, was arrested by Fairfield Police last week following an investigation into the infant’s death on March 22. She was charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.
