Fairfield Fast Food Restaurant Targeted For Phone Scam: Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — A fast food restaurant in Fairfield received a threatening phone call Thursday, which turned out to be part of a scam, according to police. About 5:30 p.m., officers responded to Dairy Queen in the 1900 block of the Post Road after an employee received a call from a stranger telling the worker the caller had a gun and to count the money at the business, law enforcement said. Police determined the call to be an attempted phone scam, intended to convince the victim to wire money, according to authorities.
